Milwaukee Catholic Home offers a variety of volunteer experiences. You can work directly with residents or help with staff and visitor services. Share your time and talents with our residents in one of the following activities:

Woodworking Instructor
Opportunity available to lead and assist residents on various woodworking projects once or twice a month. Our woodworking shop is equipped with a Shopsmith woodworking machine, Shopsmith vacuum cleaner, drill press, scroll saw, two large planes and a sander/grinder, along with an assortment of hand tools.

Aviary Assistant
Our beautiful aviaries need a volunteer to feed and water our feathered friends, clean their bedding and dust and clean the enclosures.

Computer Tutor
Work one-on-one with residents or assist Leisure Services with the monthly activity calendar.

Store Clerk
Work as cashier in the Residence's convenience store, The Emporium. 

Resident Escort
Escort residents on individual shopping excursions or outings.  Also accompany residents to beauty shop appointments, therapy sessions, mass or special events in the Health and Rehabilitation Center. 

One-Hour Visitor
Brighten the day by reading, doing an activity or talking with a resident. 

Activity Assistant
Join the recreation staff and residents in baking, crafts, birthday parties and much more. Opportunities are available in the Residence, Health and Rehabilitation Center and the Generations Day Center. 

Special Events
Assist the Recreation Department and accompany residents on special outings. Past trips have included the zoo, botanical gardens and luncheons. 

Chapel Assistant
Opportunities are available for volunteers to assist in the Milwaukee Catholic Home's two chapels. Positions include leading the communion service, distributing communion, preparing the chapel for mass and leading the rosary. Assistance with wheelchair transport of residents to the services would also be appreciated.
